About us

Since its founding in 1945, Börkey GmbH has been a reliable developer and manufacturer of specialised equipment for moving heavy loads.

The invention and start of production of the Roller Skate Express in 1951, as well as the start of production of heavy-duty wheels in 1955, laid the foundation for the company’s successful history.

In the 1960s, the company experienced strong growth thanks to high levels of government investment in infrastructure at the time, particularly in the construction of new motorways, with the result that by the end of the decade it was no longer possible to expand production at the former site in Hagen/Delstern.

After moving to its current location in Hagen/Vorhalle in 1973, there was sufficient space available for continuous expansion. With the acquisition of an additional production hall in 1997, the available production area was further expanded.
